Have you ever thought of starting your own business? I am sure you must have thought about it at least once in your lifetime. Then why have you not started it yet? I know you want to start something of your own badly. You want to be your own boss. But starting a business is not simple. And I am sure there are so many hurdles – maybe you don’t have enough capital, you don’t have right experience, you are too afraid to quit your current job, you don’t know where to start, or your family doesn’t allow. Whatever may be the reason, in your mind you are an entrepreneur, but reality is totally different. I get it. It’s not your fault.
Imagine if you can find a way to pursue your dream of starting a business, without leaving the security of your current job. What if you find a business that will give you all the freedom you wanted, but without the hurdles of starting a business? What if it can generate a side income and may eventually surpass your regular job income? Will you do it?
Stock Market Trading is one such business opportunity which can help you achieve your financial independence. I call it as a business because in business what we actually do? Think, what your grocery shopkeeper does? He buys goods from a wholesaler for a cheaper price and sells those to us at a higher price to make money. Stock Market Trading is essentially the same thing – buying company shares at a lowest possible price and selling those at the highest possible price to earn profit, isn’t it?
Here are 7 reasons why I consider Stock Market Trading as the best business,
1. No Need to Quit Your Current Job
That’s the scariest thing to do at the moment. Wouldn’t it be a nightmare if you suddenly stop getting your monthly paychecks?
A more practical way would be to transition slowly from your day job to the full-time Stock Market Trading. During this transition period, you will have to do both the things simultaneously – Job (full time) & Trading (part time). Your job is your primary source of income currently, so don’t neglect that. But at the same, in your free time focus on learning and improving your trading skills.
During this period, you have to do 2 important things,
1. Build your emergency fund – 6 months of your salary in your savings account should be good enough. If you are not planning to quit your job, and continue doing trading on the side, ignore this step 🙂
2. Build your trading capital – Starting with share trading doesn’t require huge capital. However, to have a comfortable amount with you to start, experiment and have a good backup, I recommend having ₹50,000 at the minimum set aside for trading.
You will be smoothly able to transition from your current job to trading business if you have enough money to sustain without a job for at least 6 months. As a note of caution, do not quit your job abruptly. It can be disastrous.
2. No Large Capital Required
Probably, this is one of your main reasons for not starting a business. It requires a lot of money to start a business, to setup a brick-n-mortar shop, or even setup an online business.
You can start Stock Market Trading with as low as a few hundred rupees. You can start by buying just one stock. As you learn, practice, study and become more experienced and confident, you can start putting more money into your Stock Market Trading business as per your risk appetite.
Yes, trading in F&O segment requires more money. For example, for buying one Nifty Index Future, it’s recommended to have at least 2 lac rupees in your trading account. But is it even possible to start traditional business with that much low investment? Surely you can start a tea stall or vada-pav cart at the max. (Vada-pav is an Indian Burger for those who don’t know what vada-pav is).
3. No Customers & Suppliers to Deal With
Have you ever imagined a business without customers? Customers are the lifeblood of a business, right? Also, if you have a retail business, then you would also be having suppliers who will provide you with the goods that you will sell to customers.
Now, with the Stock Market, both of these groups of people vanish completely. You buy shares from and sell shares to other traders in the Stock Market just like you and I.
With no customers and suppliers, there is no headache of handling customer queries & complaints, chasing customers for payments and suppliers for delivery, no angry customers, no nasty suppliers. Isn’t that a great relief?
4. No Products or Services to Sell
A business without any of their own products or services? Are you kidding me? But yes, that’s true. In Stock Market what you buy and sell are shares of a company. You don’t have to worry about manufacturing, assuring quality, maintaining inventory or even managing storage space. All shares are virtual entities and are managed by the Stock Exchange electronically.
People that have a complete online business are also free from all these issues like physical storage or manufacturing. But they need to have their own digital products or services. You as a Stock Market Trader don’t even need that.
5. No Business Registration & License Required
It can be a little daunting task to get all the licenses and legal paperwork done for setting up a traditional business.
With Stock Market, you can legally start your investing and trading business if you have a PAN card and a bank account. That’s it. You don’t need to incorporate your own company, get a business license or any sort of procedures like that. Of course you will need Demat and Trading accounts. But opening those accounts are 100 times simpler and quicker than getting business licenses.
6. No Office Space Required
You just need a good enough laptop and a stable Internet connection. That’s it. You don’t need any office space, staff, security or a cafeteria. All you need is a good place to sit, which can be your home office or a just a couch in your living room in addition to laptop and the Internet.
That way, you can literally do your Stock Trading business from any part of the world. That gives you a total freedom.
7. Be Your Own Boss
There won’t be anyone sitting on top of your head or watching over your shoulders while working. You can set your own working schedule, you can have your own working (a.k.a. trading) plan and you can work whenever you want, or take a week’s break whenever you wish.
But You Need To Start NOW !!!
All this seems like a day-dream and feels impossible to achieve. But remember,
The journey of a thousand miles begins with one stepLao TZU, A chinese philosopher
You have to start somewhere. You just cannot say that “I don’t like my job”, and then keep on doing it for the rest of your life because you have no other way to go.
I can only show you the way, but you are the one who have to walk the path. Are you ready?
